Metal heat treatment is the process in which metal is heated and cooled (quenched) quickly which imbues the metal object with properties such as strength, hardness, toughness, flexibility and anti-wear resistance.

IH heat treatment is often applied to power train parts including engine components. Not only can IH heat treatment allow such parts to be made smaller, lighter and decrease overall production costs, but it can also improve a car’s overall performance, and help increase its fuel efficiency. IH heat treatment is also applied to mission critical core parts in other industries such construction machinery and manufacturing robots.
Heat treatment is actually a ancient technology. Japanese swords made by bladesmiths are one example. Steel was fired until it was red hot and subsequently quenched quickly. By working the material, a tough, resilient sword was made. Japanese sword making can be called one of Japan’s great ancient technical traditions.
Currently, there are many forms of metal heat treatment. High frequency induction hardening, which is Fuji Denshi’s area of expertise, is one such form of heat treatment.
